The Bespoke Tailoring Process

Bespoke tailoring is the process of handcrafting a garment to impeccably fit an individual. The process involves 3 fittings and usually takes 12-14 weeks.

Consultation

The process begins with a consultation to discuss your garment requirements. We look through a range of cloths from prestigious cloth houses and choose styling details. Emma will then take a comprehensive set of measurements and notes on your figuration.

Cutting The Cloth

Emma will create an individual paper pattern, which will later be altered and stored. Your garment is then chalked on your chosen cloth and cut out leaving inlays if adjustments are required in the future. Your garment is then made up to a first ‘baste’ fitting. This includes a handcrafted canvas, which is built up to give the garment the correct structure for each individual figure.

First Fitting

You will be invited to try on your garment at a first fitting. We will discuss the comfort and look of your garment and the fit will be expertly analysed. The garment will then re cut and your personal paper pattern altered.

Additional Fittings

At the second fitting we will check the amendments and once you are happy with the fit of the garment, it will be taken to the next stage.

From here Savile Row trained tailors will complete the make of your garment. Only the trustworthy hands of the expert coat-makers, trouser-makers and waistcoat-makers of Savile Row will construct your garment. We will then complete the hand finishing, including handsewn button holes.

Finishing

Your garment will then be completed to an immaculate standard. This includes handsewn buttonholes, top stitching, and pristine pressing.

Final Fitting

At the final fitting you will be able to try on your beautiful bespoke finished suit and take it away to enjoy wearing it.
